100% Beeswax Taper Candles
Details
One pair of hand dipped 100% beeswax tapers.
Made in upstate New York by Alysia Mazzella using 100% locally sourced beeswax.
- 9 hrs per candle, about 10" tall and 3/4" wide.
- Add a candle holder here.
- Comes as a pair attached by the wick. Cut wick to 1/4" before lighting. Fits standard size candlesticks, candelabras, and taper holders.
- The hand dipped candle making method requires that a central wick is repeatedly submerged into molten beeswax. The width of the candle increases as new layers of wax cure over the previous. Variations will occur. Always burn candles within sight.
- Alysia also began Backland, a seasonal garden and educational apiary in upstate New York whose aim is to decentralize and diversify beekeeping by redistributing resources and peer support among Black beekeepers, Indigenous beekeepers, and beekeepers of color.

Through the season with this piece
Candles burn, as the wheel of time turns.
Autumnal candle gazing, watching the flame dance, getting lost in the shades of oranges and reds and yellows like the leaves outside that make the heart feel held.
The Hibernal fiery glow of light nearby while waking up early to knit in the still morning before the sun rises, or curled up reading while the sky grows dark come the end of day.
Vernal slow sunday breakfast for two- with a candlestick and a bud vase filled with a stem of a newly blooming familiar friend.
Estival dinner parties, finishing with the scent of beeswax smoke from blowing our candles after a supper shared with loved ones- giving thanks for nourishing conversation, company, and food.
